Hmmm...I am honest, caring, trusting, sincere, compassionate, family-oriented. I am curious about other cultures and love to travel and experience and learn about new things while helping to improve the lives of others. I love all kinds of ethnic foods, and I am the kind of person who will order something on the menu just because I have absolutely no clue what it is.
Although I will try almost anything, some things (such as sky-diving) only need to be experienced once!
I spent many years living and working in Africa for non-profits and the US government until evacuated from Mali last year due to a coup d'etat. I have now decided to live and work here in the DC metro area, and hope to share the rest of my life with someone special (while still travelling from time to time).
I am Jewish, but grew up in rural New Hampshire where we were almost the only Jewish family in town. My memories of growing up Jewish mostly revolve around getting car sick along the winding back roads to make our way to the small synagogue 45 minutes away. But living in Africa, I developed a stronger identity with my cultural heritage, and always invited the handful of Jewish expatriates in the countries I where I lived to celebrate the major holidays.
I have always followed my passion and worked hard at my career path, and figured finding that soulmate would somehow just happen on its own. I am now realizing that I have to make a bit more of an effort, hence Jdate.
I just re-read my profile. While all true statements, it may lead someone to believe that I am largely extroverted and fearless. I can be a bit shy and wary until I feel comfortable (but warm up very quickly with the right person!).
