After a respite from the online dating world, I think I'll give this a go once more... Slowly, of course.
My name is Adam and as the photos above suggest, I'm a medical school student (MD/PhD candidate, studying neurobiology and oncology) here in Philadelphia. If I had to describe myself, I think I would say I'm the illegitimate love-child of two of my favorite television characters: JD from Scrubs and Ted Mosby from HIMYM. I'm goofy and nerdy, but sweet and empathic, adventurous, passionate and driven, and idealistic.
I enjoy art, music and writing, scotch, speakeasies and pre-prohibition era bars, feelings of wanderlust and nostalgia, cooking at home with a glass of wine in hand, and experiencing Philadelphia cuisine (sushi, steak, Italian...).
A native of the Philadelphia suburbs, I've studied in Boston, New York and London. It's great to be back home doing the medicine thing, but I hope to venture out mid-west/west coast for residency (Chicago... Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin... maybe Washington or Oregon?).
I no doubt have undiagnosed/subclini cal ADHD and as a result, constantly need to be stimulated and on the move. On the other hand, I enjoy the serenity of quiet, and being able to share the silence with someone (long drives to absolutely nowhere come to mind).
While busy (who isn't these days?), I'm looking to make room and time for something serious, and someone who: continuously challenges me but keeps me grounded, is intelligent, witty, and classy (but only ironically so), enjoys laughter, and wouldn't mind a rainy Sunday afternoon on the couch reading a book.
I'm extremely outspoken (though, shy and potentially stand-offish at first), and am a sucker for a good debate and a counter-argument to the things I say and do.
I'm rather type-A and [extremely?] stubborn at times, but am always open to the possibility of others' opinions and views. Though certainly headstrong and with conviction, I'm inspired by those whose lives have led them down different paths than my own, and am humbled by the ability to learn from experience.
I take my education extremely seriously (border-lining on competitive) and constantly hope to glean something new about the world.
Lastly, and I don't mind admitting it... I'm a typical Gemini.
Feel free to shoot me a message.
