Ok, here we go. I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and moved to the US in 2009 after graduating from medical school to start my neurology residency. Interestingly I often hear that I am a difficult South American to identify mostly because of the fair skin and the lack of a typical Portuguese accent, let’s not mention the name and last name. My parents did a great job predicting I was moving to North America when they named me Stephanie.
I love traveling and I like thinking that I belong to the world, not attached to any specific place although I am hoping to settle somewhere when the right time comes. The idea of moving to the States came after backpacking through Europe and realizing that after 40 days, when my friends were crying to go home, I was begging to stay.
I’m a doctor with a veterinarian heart as being close to animals can easily bring a smile to my face, especially dogs. I love my job but I am not a workaholic, well, I try my best with a residency schedule. Foreign movies and live music are other passions in my life. Sorry, I am not a blockbuster person at all and you will never see me watching AMC movies. Rio is a magic city, I miss the beach, my adorable parents, my sister and brother, hanging out with friends, but above all, my yellow lab with caramel eyes that is just adorable. There is nothing better than to be with someone that makes you laugh and believe me, this will not be a challenge at all as Im usually the one laughing about things, often when no one else is - which can be quite pathetic but let's not get into much details about that. There is much more but I decided to stop here and see if you are curious.
