About Me
I am a simple guy with my own set of eccentricities like we all have. I am a medically retired Police Officer that was injured on the job during an altercation with a suspect. Due to some specific skill sets I have developed over the years, I am now a consultant to the US Dept. of State conducting various sorts of training pertaining to the current conflict overseas reference Terrorism.
I was married for seven years and recently divorced, but we are still good friends which is important to me. In October of 2009 I was involved in an incident that almost cost me my life. The outcome resulted in damage to my left leg, back, and my left arm being traumatically amputated just below the shoulder. The stress of this event had quite a bit to do with my divorce.
I am now the primary test candidate in a new experimental prosthetic limb program for the Military, which is quite exciting for me and will hopefully restore certain aspects of my life which I greatly miss.
As I continue to rehab, I am enjoying getting back out into the outdoors for hiking and other related activities. Up until my injury I used to be an avid runner, mountain biker, backpacker, and rock climber. I'm hoping that through this new prosthetic limb program I will eventually be able to get back into those activities.
I like to try and take two or three vacations a year down to various islands to relax and "de-stress"! :)
I have two German Shepherds which are without question my children. They sleep on the couch and bed....it's a rough life being one of my pets.
I certainly do enjoy going out to nice restaurants and enjoying time out with my friends, but at the same time cherish quiet time at home with a special person. I am most certainly not a "party person".
My mother passed away quite some time ago, but my father and I have an extremely close relationship. He still lives in Virginia where I am originally from, but comes out to visit every few months.
