I am 67 years but in many ways live the life of a younger single dad. I like my life. I find it interesting and compelling.
I enjoy being a dad. I have three kids – a boy and a girl who are 10, going into the fifth grade, and a boy who is 12 going into the 7th grade. He will have his bar mitzvah this fall. I devote considerable time to them – helping with their increasingly demanding homework, sorting out and getting them to a diverse set of activities, enjoying seeing them change and grow, and generally hanging out. In one way or the other, the kids touch my heart almost every day.
I like my work. I have been involved in public interest social justice work for my entire professional life – running the Connecticut Citizen Action Group many moons ago, building progressive political coalitions, running political campaigns for Governor and Secretary of State here in Connecticut, and for the past 13 years working for a social change public charitable foundation. For the foundation, I direct a fund which raises resources to push back against the increasing amounts of money that more and more dominate our political campaigns and civic life. We will make about $5 million in grants to state and national organizations which are doing the best work on tackling this major challenge posed by the ever increasing special interest political spending on our democracy. .
I know there is something missing in my life – and that is a relationship with a woman with whom can share my life and I can enjoy having her share her life with me. I enjoy walks, anything outside from April to October, talking over dinner, and sharing a good laugh...and finding some areas of mutual interest. I have a big heart and would like to meet a woman who also has a big heart.
