I strongly believe that we can choose what to make of every day, every situation, and every relationship in our lives. Embracing that mindset (even when it isn't easy, and we all have days when it feels impossible!) is pretty fundamental for me in terms of compatibility with a future partner.
The most memorable and meaningful times in my life have been those that have led me to grow and learn about myself... and I'm grateful for even the tough ones. I like to laugh, talk, explore new things, and just treasure simple moments.
I grew up in KC and went away for undergrad, thinking I'd never likely never return. Well, 27 years and a bunch of U.S. and global cities later, I'm back...It's really nice to be here with family, and to rediscover a much evolved hometown! I have been fortunate to make wonderful friendships through the various phases of my life and places I've lived, people I still view as treasured. I am blessed to have two amazing boys, an incredible family, and a job I really enjoy. I have lived and traveled worldwide, now returning home to KC after 27 years away, and am excited to see what this new life stage will bring!
I love every moment spent with my two incredible boys who are 10 and 12. My job is challenging and rewarding, for which I am grateful. I hope to make an effort in the coming year to rediscover some of my personal interests which have been "on hold" for a bit too long. I would like to begin traveling again when possible, get active in local groups, going to theatre, using my language skills, and reawakening my love for playing the piano. I enjoy trying new things... adventure seems to be calling me lately!
Right now some great dates and a possible relationship would be perfect. I'm definitely not ready to dive back into marriage anytime soon, but look forward to getting back out there and getting to know someone interesting and compatible. I think dating at this stage should be very different from a couple of decades ago. If we can't be ourselves in our relationships (even friendships), then we are picking the wrong ones! Lots of laughter, authentic and open communication, honesty and trust. It's what we all deserve, right?
