I find myself drawn to intelligent and highly-literate people, because I view myself that way. However, I am often independent and occasionally antisocial. I'm a reader and a political junkie and movie snob. I'm looking for someone with similar interests who can hold intelligent conversation and enjoys frequent and exciting adventures.
I grew up in New York City, but have now lived in Colorado for 11 years. I spend my summers as a river guide on the Poudre, which is my greatest passion, and I work the rest of the year as a substitute teacher. I have not yet moved into the 'career' phase of my life, but I have instead enjoyed and taken advantage of my freedom up to this point. When I'm not working or rafting, I enjoy playing games (Scrabble, bar trivia), reading (news, magazines, non-fiction), messing around with my cat (Louie), hiking and biking, watching good movies and sports, and drinking beer with friends. I like to hike and camp and go on multi-day rafting trips around the West. I have a very diverse taste in music, but I don't make it out to shows nearly as much as I'd like to. I think that I'm funny, kind, smart, friendly and sometimes a homebody. I'm looking for an adventure partner, a friend, and whatever else that brings.
Oh, and I just grew a beard for the first time in my life, so I've got that going for me...
