About Me

Note: Picture in navy sweater is current, other two are eight years old! Yikes! No good recent close ups :/ Will someone PLEASE take my picture?! Since the last time I was on here, I married for the first time, had my first and only child (fabulous kid, now four an a half) and have now, unfortunately, divorced (ink is not dry). I also moved from Seattle, where I'd been living for the last twenty-three years, to Portland, Or- a change I am indeed grateful for. Although my income is very low, I am a homeowner, which brings me financial peace of mind. I will get back to this soon to rewrite it, but for now I will do my best to briefly describe who I am and what I am looking for. I am a complex person (that's what I've been told.) Assertive but easy going, very straightforward and honest, social, but sometimes introverted. I'm friendly and talkative, quick to smile and have a great sense of humor, not moody but somewhat reactive to my surroundings and company. Highly sensitive, not hypersensitive. Smart, quick-witted, active, intellectually curious and intense. I am very secure and confident and definitely need those two traits in the man I am to be with. Since I was young, people have thought I was from the East Coast. I have always taken that as a complement, and for what it's worth, if you don't like East Coasters you probably won't like me. (Just sayin'.) I don't have a PhD but can usually keep up with those who do. Having said that, I find common sense, wisdom, and a love of learning just as important as a formal education, when it comes to choosing friends and a mate. I have no time for those who are insecure around people who are "smarter" than them, or more financially successful, as I have no time for those who judge others based on their schooling or social status. I'd love to find a man who's intelligent (including emotionally), successful in his life, confident without being arrogant, physically attractive and has a good heart. Of course there are other traits he'd need to have. Here's the short list- not so short- honest, loyal, devoted, interested, straightforward or at least honest, communicative, masculine, a good sense of humor, healthy, and somewhat traditional and conservative, yet open minded would be nice.
