The quick low-down: Born and raised in a suburb of Boston. Went to college in Cambridge, MA (first a nerd, then at that other school with all of the bricks). Life began again when I moved to New Orleans to fulfill my dream of being awoken at 4am by fire alarms pulled by drunken 18-year olds. After living that dream, I could barely muster up the energy for my next job, sailing around the world on Semester at Sea. How can 9 amazing countries in 100 days compare with the joys of intoxicated adolescents!? If you can't tell, sarcasm is often my humor of choice.Currently live in Durham, NC, the jewel of the Research Triangle. When I am not working, I alternate between being comicly domestic (I knit, quilt, cook, and LOVE to bake, amongst other things) and letting my hair down (actually I usually put it up for this...) at concerts. While I am particularly a fan of Cowboy Mouth, my musical tastes vary anywhere from Barenaked Ladies to Beethoven to Bruce Springsteen and the Seeger Sessions Band to Jimmy Buffet to some new band you might share with me. I love the comraderie to be found when a group of people with a common interest get together. My passion is community - in large scale (like how do we rebuild New Orleans without losing its pre-Katrina essence) and in small scale (helping a pair of college students be successful roommates).I don't want to limit my options by saying I am looking for one thing and then missing out on meeting someone who is the opposite - after all, I am ever-evolving, and I want to be open to new things. So, let's just say I am looking for someone who shares my interests, has a sense of adventure, and agrees that being practical isn't always practical.
