About Me
I am the kind of person who will hunt down a special recipe to make a favorite birthday cake for a friend who is far from home. I like being part of a group instead of the center of attention, but I'm not too shy to toot my own horn if the need should arise. My job is terrific, and I get to see and do a lot of fun things. When I'm not working, I love being outdoors and just competed my tenth half marathon and am training for my 11th (yes, my non-running/non-walk ing friends think I'm slightly nuts). My friends are a wide assortment of people, from old classmates in junior high school to brand-new friends I've met just this year. That is a pretty good reflection of my life - honoring the old and being open to the new. My friends would say that I'm quiet when you first get to know me, game to try anything except bungee jumping, and a conservative risk taker (does that even make sense?). I've also been called stubborn before, but I think what they meant to say was "persistent." A perfect partner for me is one with a sarcastic sense of humor, a love of travel, interest in trying new things, and a willingness to watch cheesy movies with me on the couch. You don't have to be a marathoner yourself, though I do want someone who is in it for the long haul.
