About Me
Well, I've learned never to say to a woman that she is wearing sensible shoes. I've discovered that I wear about one-fifth of my wardrobe over and over, so why did I buy the rest? I've realized that some quick decisions, like buying my Prius, turn out much better than things I consider with great care. Hm. I suppose I could say that I'm a good-natured professor, but not a nerdy dork. I'll treat you well and create romance when you're down and hope that you will do the same. I'm confident, loyal, attentive, normal, and communicative--not a closed down clam type. I'm passionate about my career but I also aim to strike a healthy balance in life. I teach students about international security and foreign policy; and sometimes go to Washington DC or abroad to do research and consult. In my free time, I like to enjoy the better things in life such as world travel, art exhibits, dancing, sporting events, and time at one of VA's or NC's great beaches. My career is very good, and I'm now looking to meet someone right, and I don't mind much if I have to go a distance to meet new people. In my view, at least, a good long distance relationship beats a so-so one close to home. Where there is a will, there is a way, as they say. My favorite quote: "The heart has reasons that reason does not know." (Pascal) My favorite band is: "U2." I can listen to "Streets with No Name," and "One" over and over again. I was actually stopped two times, in California and Belize, and asked if I was "Bono." I should have said "yes." I will give out an autograph, next time.
