About Me
My career had always come first in my life, until now. I made a big transition a few years ago leaving my cushy job as a TV sports anchor to become a high school broadcast teacher. As a tv anchor I pretty much worked all nights and weekends. I had no time for much outside of work. My quality of life is so much better since making the switch. Yes sports was my career, but I'm not some obsessed fan. Like any job, when it is your job it's not as much fun. I had the opportunity to see sports behind the scenes and it's not pretty. That being said, I still love being involved with sports whether it be playing or coaching. About five years ago I started managing travel level youth baseball and it's the best decision I ever made (and probably sent me in the direction of education). I never thought volunteering time could be so rewarding. It will come as no surprise that I like sports, but there's more to me than that. I enjoy intelligent (and sometimes silly) conversation involving just about any subject. Come election time I'm a political nut, and I wear my blue state loyalty proudly.
