When I was a young girl, I would ride my bicycle around the neighborhood every day after school for what seemed like hours. I would stop to say talk to the other kids biking around the block. I would feed the ducks and let them peck at my feet for crumbs. I would watch the turtles sunbathing and the cormorants elegantly diving into the water. I would pop wheelies and dare to ride my bike with no hands. I'd throw my bike in the yard, run inside to check in with my mom, eat a popsicle and go back outside for more fun. I would make up adventures with my friends and pretend we were famous explorers out looking for buried treasure. I buried pennies in my yard and created my own buried treasure for the next kids who would move in. I would stop to feed the bunny rabbit the neighbors kept penned up in their yard. I picked grapefruit, and oranges and kumquats from our trees. I played whiffle ball in the backyard with my brother. I waved hello to strangers washing their cars. I made wishes into the wishing well in our front yard. I would play in the dirt and watch the lizards, and the frogs and the earthworms.
At age 38, I'm fortunate that not a whole lot has changed and the adventures continue each and every day. I am looking for someone to share a life time of adventures with. There's a lot more yet to explore.
