I am intelligent, intuitive, very analytical and clear, and creative. Classical music is very important to me. I therefore decided to make a change, selling my partnership interest in a successful, music-related business I started with a friend while at university, in order to pursue composing more intensely. No, I do not employ vacuum cleaners in my music and yes, I do try to make my music tuneful. I particularly enjoy writing chamber music and songs. I am concerned with the future of music and art in general. Lately, I've been getting performances - in February of last year I had a premiere at the Kennedy Center and then one in Stockholm, Sweden, a video of which you can watch by searching the largest place for videos for andante strings stockholm. I include it here not from ego, but rather to allay any fears that I may be one of "those modern music composers". I am a decent pianist, but don't play very much anymore. I believe that public education should focus more on the appreciation of classical music and art in general. This is not simply altruistic - it is the only way to ensure concert attendance in the future. I think arts and sciences are the emblem of mankind's existence, and should be treasured.
