Having lived all across the States, I settled into Portland three years ago to escape the rat race and to enjoy a small enough city that still has big city pleasures along with tremendous access to the beautiful outdoors. To help with my outdoor skills, I took the Mazamas BCEP mountaineering program last year and summitted Mt Adams. So needless to say I'm pretty adventurous and can be found around town doing all types of fun things. In October, I went fishing and caught an 18lb chinook salmon which we smoked for break the fast. I've got my head on straight, enjoy life, have my own business though still have plenty of free time, and make it a point to take joy in the little things just as much as the big ones. I have certain crazy travel streaks and other times am home months at a time. I am working on becoming quite adept cooking at home with organic veggies, pastured/grass-fed meet, etc. That said clearly I'm in foodie heaven here (and I'd love to share with someone the pimento cheeseburger I just learned is a few miles from me)! Try to take one big overseas trip every year but this year stayed more local venturing up to Alaska to see polar bears in the Arctic Circle, Denali at the height of fall colors, and glaciers around Seward via an overnight kayak trip plus a lot more. Last year was Iceland. Hoping to make it to Asia next. Currently taking a class in mah jong, pursuing photography and am a bit too competitive and play speed demon Scrabble (8 minute total games). Also worth noting, I am not a small talker and am emotionally intelligent. I like talking about what is going on in the world and am bored by filler. And while I've got my serious side, I'm pretty darn playful and enjoy witty banter. Life is great... just would like to find my man so we can be on this journey together. I'll also say finding my man is proving to more challenging than I believe it should be, but I'm still a true romantic. I also believe that my man will be worth the wait just as I have zero doubt that he'll say the same when he finally finds me.
