About Me
I am Rabbi and part time attorney (in NY and NJ). I received Semicha from the Instutute of Traditional Judaism. I have a passion for law, which explains my professions of choice. But I love to explore all ideas and thoughts, so I am interested in many other fields - psychology, philosophy, sociology etc. I am fairly worldly, very interested in politics, and interested in being part of both the Jewish community, and the general community. My religious beliefs are in the modern orthodox realm, though sometimes a bit off-center even there. I am fairly strict in most of my observance, but I also think that the halachic world must do its best to include women in any part of religious life to the extent halacha allows. I only wish halacha would allow us to achieve complete equality. Absent that, we should do what we can. My educational background includes Solomon Schechter education through 8th grade, yeshiva high school, and a BA in Talmud from the Jewish Theological Semianry and a BA in Political Science/Economics from Columbia. I am definitely guilty of being overly intellectual, but I also have a healthy enjoyment of more low-key entertainment. I am a big fan of TV sitcoms, Movies, and sports (my personal preference is for hockey, with baseball and football not too far behind).
