That moment of panic when you’re performing in 10 minutes and you can’t find your instrument...
If you play enough gigs, it will happen. Believe me, it will happen. But otherwise, I've got the greatest job in the world. The stage is my office. The audience is my clientele. And my boss is me. Who wouldn't want that?
But I can't lie to you: musician isn't my primary job. Sure, it's more of an actual job than it is for most people (I compose music for television on the side as opposed to playing Journey covers in my garage), but it's not the only way I pay my bills. It was at one point, but I've since cut my hair and settled down a little.
By trade, I'm a technical consultant (read: professional computer nerd). I get to make my own hours, work from wherever I darn well please, and travel as much as I want. No being shackled to a desk for this guy. My office is wherever I want it to be.
