i've been in Philadelphia now almost two years- and it still feels as if I barely know the city. And yet, I find myself desirous to move, and so when my lease is up in June, I'm packin' my bags and headed to NYC (where most of my family and friends are from!)
Besides.... I love discovering and doing new things, and though I love Philly, I believe it's time for a change.
Currently though, I work in the inner city as a therapist (of sorts), and I do some theater-y stuff on the side on occasion.
I appreciate the very simple things...and I also enjoy the more ridiculous things as well. I am very passionate and goofy... serious and silly... family oriented, and yet very independent... and well, you get the idea. I am a fairly positive person- it's something that is a constant work in progress, as it's always easier to be negative, but I feel it is worthwhile to try at least. I I really like to cook, and enjoy trying out new recipes and feeding people. Some recipes turn out better than others but....oh well! At the very least, everything is usually edible.
All that said, I like to think I'm easy-going, and I try to say yes to new experiences, even if I'm not sure I'll like it. This year, I said yes to a warrior dash, and I LOVED it.
Easy List o' things I like! (in no particular order)
Friends, karaoke, theater, being outside when its GORGEOUS out (or even not so gorgeous), reading, sushi, (or most raw seafood really- love oysters!), good wine (Red or white), conversations that make you feel like no time has elapsed, dancing (!), going to bars/pubs/restaurant s, frolicking, smiling often and hard, laughing til i cry, seeing movies, shopping (sorry, had to put it in for honesty's sake)...and so much more.
Things I dislike.
Peaches. I just can't get into peaches. Think they're gross. Sorry. Oh! And I have a very low tolerance for using you're/your wrong... as well as they're/their/there. .. I know that's got to be a big weird, but I can't help it.
