As someone who has been doing the net thing for almost 10 years now with no success, I very much believe in the old systems. I.E. newtworking & meeting through family, friends and so one. Unfortunate for me, all of my friends choose to ignore the fact the I need help, although most of them know many elligable bachelors. I wish Rabbis would educate congregations more. Explaining to people they should not take the person they are dating lightly. Explaining to married people how lucky they are, and how instead of having plain pity for singles, they should get of their butts and at least try helping, thinking or praying for all of us still on our own out there.
