Corned Beef, Pastrami, Pickles…Oh Rye!

Submitted by

On Tuesday, February 8th, JDate launched www.JPicks.com, and thrust itself into the world of online wheeling and dealing. The site of “The Chosen Deals™,” JPicks deems itself the “big macher of daily deal sites,” promising huge discounts of 50-90% at all your favorite LA shops, entertainment venues and eateries. However, unlike JDate, members don’t necessarily have to be single or even Jewish, to join…they just have to love a great deal.

With Brent’s Delicatessen & Restaurant as a launch partner, JPicks’ very first deal, offering $50 worth of deli-licious sandwiches, soups and salads for only $25, good for redemption at either of the deli’s two locations (Northridge or Westlake Village), sold out completely before lunch.

Brent’s has become a staple in the world of delicatessens since its founding in 1967. Quickly growing from a small, family owned sandwich shop into a Los Angeles household name, to anyone in the greater LA area, especially the Valley, the Brent’s brand is now synonymous with outrageously delicious homemade food. In addition to being named “the #1 Restaurant and Delicatessen” 16 straight years in a row by Zagat® survey, as well as the 2007 AOL City’s Best survey pick for “Best Jewish Deli,” it’s the loyal customers who really give Brent’s its shining reputation.

“You guys are so good it’s almost criminal,” one patron said in a recent customer review.

“We LOVE You All! Food is Wonderful…WHAT A GREAT PLACE to come and eat!” said another.

Following a visit one evening for dinner, one customer even asked, “How do you get that staff so motivated?”

With a menu that spans the gamut of scrumptious eats, from Good Old Fashioned Waffles and Silver Dollar Pancakes to Hot Corned Beef Reubens and a 16 oz. Bone-In Ribeye Steak, so said the JPick: “there’s a little bit or, in this case, a lot for everyone.”

However, what Brent’s really prides itself on is a dedication to the very best catering.  In fact, in a recent note to one of Brent’s catering representatives, a client wrote, “I wanted to thank you for providing us with excellent service again this year.  The food was delicious and the driver was very courteous.  The employees enjoyed their luncheon very much.”

Offering out-of-this world, top-of-the-line meat trays, sandwich platters and hot continental buffet options, as well as salads, fruits and desserts, Brent’s is the go-to destination for all party planning, office luncheon, family reunion (and any other type of get-together)  catering needs. Think Passover. Serving as far north as Santa Barbara and as far south as San Diego, so says the website, “We didn’t invent catering, we just made it easier.”

Today, Brent’s manager Marc Hernandez holds true to the Brent’s mission statement of being “the best family owned and operated delicatessen and restaurant in the nation… by providing excellent service and the highest quality food available.” In fact, Brent’s affiliation with JPicks is the first promotional partnership the restaurant has taken on since its founding. So says Hernandez, we’re typically “no promotions, just good food.” So why did Brent’s choose to partner with JPicks? The deal was like the food; way too good to pass up.
