I was the only girl Jason ever met from JDate, and my sister and her husband also met on JDate. I think it’s safe to say that we are all definitely JDate Success Stories!
We talked on and off through JDate for four years; neither one of us wanted to make the first move. We both lived at home and were working to further ourselves in our careers. Finally, in 2011 it was all or nothing.
I was one who made the first move. It was Mother’s Day in May of 2010 when I initiated contact with Jason on JDate. I think I made some clever comment about “The Jewish mother’s ideal Mother’s Day celebration, sitting side-by-side with her son, perusing JDate for the girl she would like to bare her grandchildren…”
Not long after joining JDate, I received a message from “GAgirlinSATX.” It was short and to the point; no crap in her profile about long walks on the beach, etc. And, she was the most gorgeous woman I had ever seen.
I signed up for JDate after having hesitancy about online dating. After checking out several profiles, I came across Eric, a guy who shared a lot of the same interests as me. We both loved sports and thought this was a great way to meet someone.
Although we only lived about 20 minutes from each other, it was clear to us that we never would have met were it not for JDate!
On February 4, 2013, Matt proposed; we’re getting married on September 21, 2013. We can’t wait to spend our lives together and we owe it all to JDate!
We will soon be celebrating our one-year wedding anniversary. I’m so glad I didn’t give up on JDate; I would have never had the opportunity to meet the love of my life. Adam and I have fun doing nothing together, as we are not only husband and wife, but best friends.
We got to know each other on JDate in September of 2011. After sending a few messages back and forth on JDate, we started emailing, then talking on the phone until the early hours of the morning. We felt a very strong bond developing between the two of us, like we had found our soul mate…
Jon and I met the traditional way: on JDate. He emailed me asking about my recent trip to New Zealand, telling me he had traveled there too. I was a little skeptical initially because he was two whole years younger than me (red flag: could be immature!) and his main profile picture featured him sitting on a bench while hugging a life-sized plastic fish (red flag: too goofy!).
