We thank JDate for creating a world where strangers can become best friends and share a life together.
Judy, along with her best friend, created a profile on JDate. Since they lived in different cities, they felt they were not competing and, if anything, could be helpful in finding each other the man of their dreams. Judy felt she had dated all the eligible Jewish men in Northern Virginia (until Alan came along).
Josh and I first found each other on JDate in December of 2009. At the time, we were both working the night shift at our jobs and found it difficult to meet new people. Josh, in fact, was encouraged to join JDate by his mother.
There was only one day left on my JDate subscription when I saw a cute photo for a JDater® named NurseAmy82 (a cute blonde girl), so I shot her an email explaining how my subscription was ending and if she wanted to reach out, how she could get in touch with me.
A few weeks after using JDate and not having any luck, I received a funny message from Jonathan (he even mentioned he was a year older than my requested age range, which immediately made me smile). We went on our first date a week later and have been inseparable ever since.
Thanks to JDate I can say I am lucky enough to have married my best friend.
I had five or six dates within the first month. I met some lovely men, but I knew none of them were “The One.” Sometime around the fourth week of my JDate adventure, I noticed a very handsome man had looked at my profile…
We were married in just under two years and we’re big believers in JDate. If it weren’t for JDate, I just don’t know how I would have met him.
There is an old rabbinic legend in which one rabbi asks another what God has been busy doing since creating the world in six days. “God,” says the rabbi, “has been busy making matches.” Looking back now, I realize Lana and I actually gave God a little assistance by registering on JDate.
Ashley was a little more skeptical about joining JDate, but with the urging of her family, she finally agreed. She now believes it was one of the best decisions of her life.
