About four years ago I was on JDate looking around, and Jason and I started talking. We found out that we both had similar careers: I work in EMS and he works for the NYPD. We talked back and forth for a while on JDate, but then also exchanged emails and phone numbers and continued to stay in touch.

The next few dates were thoughtfully planned, including more pool, buying and putting puzzles together, and making banana pancakes. Two years later, Abby and Ben are happily engaged and couldn’t be more grateful for JDate bringing them together.

JDate was not only successful for me, but also for my sister! After meeting Andrew and seeing how happy we were together, she immediately joined JDate and met the love of her life. She is now planning her wedding for the summer of 2013 and I couldn’t be a happier Matron of Honor!

Many dates followed after that, and each date was as wonderful as the first two. Now, a year and a half later, Calanit and I are getting married in June in Haifa, Israel. In Calanit, I have found my soul mate, partner in life, and best friend. Thank you JDate for introducing us; I am eternally grateful.

Neither of us can remember who sent the first JDate message (we both swear it was the other). After messaging back and forth for a bit, one night we finally started IM’ing on JDate. We talked for so long that night that my computer started to die, so I suggested we take our conversation to text message.

Turns out we had both been vegetarians for 12 years (an amazing coincidence since neither of us had indicated that in our JDate profile), and we both got our MBAs at the same school, in the same program, and we apparently even overlapped by one term (even though we didn’t know each other when we were there). We even went to high school in the same town.

We started chatting online on JDate and it was quite a long time (at least a month, with some long silences in between) before we spoke on the phone. We quickly felt at ease in each other’s company, however, and it was good to have our first chat on the phone, without the nerves of a face-to-face meeting. We spoke for hours — and the fire started!

We began to chat over JDate IM and the conversation just flowed — we quickly exchanged personal emails and phone numbers. Oren called me the very next day. I was so excited to see an incoming call from him!
