A little over three years ago, I met my husband Mike through JDate. We were both living in Boston where he was about to start medical school and I was working as a writer at an advertising agency. After a few messages back and forth, we agreed to meet for coffee. The date was so easy and fun, we couldn’t wait to get together again and learn more about each other.
I was a little hesitant to sign up for JDate initially. But I took the plunge when I heard about the Purim special: “Two months for the price of one!” At first I didn’t have much luck getting any dates. But then…

I first joined JDate in 2008, and while I never expected anything meaningful to materialize, I consistently renewed my membership just in case.
My daughters suggested that I try JDate; it was rocky at first as I attempted to compose an accurate profile and upload flattering photos. After an unsuccessful period of time, I gave it up. I re-joined JDate six months later and soon after was pleasantly surprised to find a cheerful query on a Monday evening after work.
