New York, NY - 2005 New York Jewish Environmental Bike Ride

Record participation powered the largest Ride ever! 242 cyclists toured the stunning Dutchess County landscape, tested their fitness and bonded with other riders. Organized by Hazon to raise money for cutting-edge Jewish environmental education, this annual event emphasizes the value of tzedakah (charity), physical challenge, and connection to the world around us.

Crew volunteers worked hard to keep the riders fed, hydrated and protected from the sun. At a Shabbat retreat, they learned about protecting our precious environment and uniting the Jewish community to address the problems facing our world today. To date, the Ride has raised over $170,000 to support the work of Hazon and other Jewish environmental organizations in the US and in Israel.
