JDate Helps Provide Relief for Israeli Children
Through Partnership with Jewish National Fund
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., July 20, 2006 - In response to the current crisis in Israel, JDate (www.jdate.com), the leading online Jewish singles community, has joined with the Jewish National Fund (JNF) to send Israeli children from the communities under attack to summer camp in safer areas.
In addition to a cash donation from JDate, the website is also encouraging its members to donate to JNF's "Operation Security Blanket", by providing a direct link to JNF's Summer Camp donation page from the JDate.com homepage.
"Many of our members came forward after the recent escalation asking what they could do to help," stated David Siminoff, Chief Executive Officer of Spark Networks, owner and operator of JDate. "The first priority is to get any children out of harm's way and restore a sense of calm for as many as possible by sending them to summer camps in central Israel."
"As part of the largest online community of Jewish singles, JDate members have the power to make a big difference," said Ronald S. Lauder, president of JNF. "We, but more importantly the children, are thankful to JDate and its members for their support of this important initiative."
With over 600,000 active members worldwide, JDate is the premier online community for Jewish singles. JDate is owned and operated by Spark Networks plc (AMEX: LOV), one of the world's leading providers of online personals services.
