Do you moderate photos on JDate?

Yes! In order to make sure JDate remains a clean and respectable environment for our members to interact we moderate the types of photos a member can upload.

Here are our general guidelines:

1. Your Main Photo should be a clear headshot of just you (no one else in the photo)
2. No copyrighted material (including cartoons)
3. No sexually suggestive photos (including men without shirts)
4. No altered photos

If one of your photos did not get approved and you have a question please contact Customer Service.

Does JDate offer a mobile app and is it free? What’s the difference between online and the app?

Want to JDate everywhere? Our convenient JDate mobile app is available to download for free for both iOS and Android and offers everything you have come to expect from JDate. On the app you can Explore members nearby, play “Secret Admirer”, edit your Profile, upload, look at your Matches, add Members to your “Favorites”, see Members Online, and see who has viewed your profile. Additionally, a paid subscriber will still be able to send and receive messages to other paid subscribers. You can search, browse and chat via Instant Messaging anytime, anywhere. “Favorite” your top picks in minutes!

How can I turn off auto-renewal?

We would hate to see you go and please recognize that if your subscription lapses you’ll lose access to a lot of what JDate has to offer. But if you’d like to turn off the auto-renewal feature on your subscription, here’s how to do it:

1. Click the Membership Management link in the dropdown menu of your Profile thumbnail at the top right on any page
2. Click the Cancel Subscription link
3. Follow the prompts to complete cancellation and end auto-renewal

Note: You will still have access to all subscriber privileges through the remainder of your subscription term.

How do I upload pictures from my smartphone to my JDate profile?

Without using the JDate app you can transfer your photos directly onto your computer either through iPhoto (Mac) or My Pictures (Windows). If you wish to upload directly from your smartphone, you may do so following these steps.

iOS and Android: Once logged in you can easily upload a photo from your iPhone’s or Android’s Photos, Facebook, or Instagram by clicking on the Tabs Icon on the upper left corner and scrolling down to Upload photos. You will be asked for access to your phone’s Photos, Facebook, or your Instagram depending on where your selected photo is from and you can simply select, crop and submit for approval.

There is no “Send” button. How can I send my chat (IM) message through?
