Jerry and I met sometime in early October of 2008 on JDate. We both had been single for a long time. I was married previously, had been dating for seven years after my divorce and was meeting a variety of nice gentlemen on JDate. Jerry was never married and had been dating over the years. However, neither one of us were having any luck. Jerry had his search preferences set to find women 5’3” inches and taller, but he decided to change his height preference to women who were 5’2” inches tall and over. It was then when he came across my profile. He emailed me and we started a conversation. Things were going well and we had a lot of things in common.
We continued to communicate via email and I felt comfortable enough to give Jerry my phone number. We decided to meet at The Coffee Bean in Scottsdale for tea. We both are tea drinkers rather than coffee drinkers. We met and started a nice conversation for a short while and then Jerry asked me if I was hungry. I said, “Yes.” He asked me if I liked Chinese food. I said, “Yes.” Jerry suggested we go to a Chinese food buffet nearby for dinner. We both are vegetarians, so we knew there would be a large variety of food for us to eat. I went and got a bowl of soup to start with and as I started to eat my soup, accidently my pinky finger tipped the light weight bowl and the hot, wet soup spilled completely on my lap. Luckily, I was wearing pants. I grabbed the napkins nearby and started to dry myself. I felt so embarrassed spilling soup on myself on a first date, but Jerry was so calm and nice. He said, “Are you ok?” I said, “Yes.” We talked so long that by the end of the date, my pants had dried. Then Jerry asked me if I would like to go for a walk. We walked holding hands until it got dark. Jerry asked me out again and we dated until the Fourth of July. That is when Jerry asked me to marry him. We are to be wed February 14, 2010, on Valentine’s Day.
